Suppose we have two regression equations for the same area, one of which was based on 10 years gauged data and the other one was based on 50 years of gauged data. Which you would you prefer to use for modeling a watershed in the area covered by both equations? Why?

Why are the equations of NFF based on a state-by-state basis? In other words, why can’t we have a universal equation that is valid nationally?

 The regression equations result in peak flow estimates for the 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 year return period. What do you think we could do if we want the peak flow rates of 75 years return period for a given watershed?
